There are ongoing heightened political and social tensions, including in the capital, Conakry and other towns. The situation may deteriorate without warning. Remain vigilant. Avoid protests and public gatherings, as they can turn violent. Follow the advice of local authorities and monitor local media for updates.

Fuel and water shortages occur regularly. Ensure that you maintain enough food, water and emergency supplies.

The Australian High Commission in Accra has very limited capacity to provide consular assistance in Guinea.
