There was an outbreak of Marburg virus disease in Rwanda in 2024. The Rwandan Ministry of Health has declared that the outbreak is over. The border with Burundi is currently closed (see ‘Travel’).

Exercise normal safety precautions in Rwanda. 

Higher levels apply in some areas.
