South Korea (Republic of Korea)

We continue to advise exercise normal safety precautions in South Korea. Avoid protests and demonstrations relating to the current domestic political situation. Protests have occurred in Seoul in the vicinity of the National Assembly (Yeouido), Gwanghwamun Square, the Constitutional Court (Anguk) and other district court buildings, near the Presidential Office (Samgakji) and Presidential Residence (Hannam-dong) and on university campuses. Given the evolving political situation, protests could occur in other areas in and around Seoul, as well as in other cities or elsewhere in the country. Transport and other essential services may be disrupted. Monitor the media for updates and follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).

We advise:

Exercise normal safety precautions in South Korea.
