Political tensions and civil unrest may increase at short notice. Demonstrations and protests may turn violent at short notice. Avoid demonstrations and public gatherings. There’s still a high police and security presence in country. Be aware of your personal security and belongings. Isolated security incidents, including arson, may occur across the territory. Some essential services are affected. Monitor local media and follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).
We advise:
Exercise a high degree of caution in New Caledonia due to the risk of civil disorder and violence.
