We continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution in Sierra Leone. Additional health screening measures are in place due to an increase in Mpox cases in Sierra Leone. Measures include temperature checks on arrival into and while travelling in Sierra Leone (see ‘Health’).

Public protests and demonstrations can turn violent with little or no warning. Avoid all protests, demonstrations and areas where large gatherings are taking place. (see ‘Safety’).

The Australian High Commission in Accra currently has very limited capacity to provide consular assistance in Sierra Leone.
