Angola

Protests and large gatherings can occur anywhere. Avoid areas affected by protests, demonstrations or large public gatherings. Demonstrations can lead to traffic disruptions and delays. Authorities can restrict movements without notice. Monitor media for updates and follow advice from local authorities (see ‘Safety’).

Angola is experiencing a cholera outbreak, including in Luanda and surrounding provinces. Be careful when drinking water or consuming food. You don’t need a visa to visit Angola as a tourist. For all other travel, apply for a visa online (see ‘Travel’).

We advise:

Exercise a high degree of caution in Angola overall due to the risk of civil unrest and the threat of violent crime.

Higher levels apply in some areas.
