Following Cyclone Ditwah, authorities are reopening affected road and rail routes. Many tourist destinations are operating as usual. Work to clear and repair damaged infrastructure may continue for some time. Check conditions with local authorities or your travel provider before you travel by road or rail to all central mountain districts, including Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, surrounding regions, and the Mahaweli River Valley.
