You should reconsider your need to travel to Lebanon due to the uncertain security environment. If you’re in Lebanon, consider leaving while commercial options to depart are still available. The security situation in the Middle East is unpredictable. Regional tensions remain high and there continues to be a risk of military conflict. Conflicts in the Middle East could lead to an increase in tensions elsewhere in the region, including in Lebanon, and may result in airspace closures, flight cancellations and other travel disruptions. Beirut airport could close with no notice.
Demonstrations and protest activity may also occur and local security situations could deteriorate with little notice. Avoid all demonstrations and protests. Prioritise your safety, monitor events and follow local advice.
We also continue to advise, do not travel to several areas of Lebanon due to security risks. The situation could deteriorate with no warning. More airstrikes could happen without warning.
Be prepared to leave quickly or to shelter in place for an extended period. Make sure you have enough food, water and medication. Keep your passport handy. Make sure you have travel insurance with coverage for high-risk destinations.
