We’ve reviewed our advice for Mexico and now advise exercise a high degree of caution in the cities of Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta from Jalisco state, if accessed by air. We continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to other areas in Jalisco. On 22 February, serious security incidents occurred in Jalisco and other parts of Mexico. The security situation has largely stabilised. Stay alert and follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).

We continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution in Mexico overall due to the threat of violent crime. We also continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to the states of Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Guanajuato, Sonora, Colima and Chiapas. There are lower levels within some of these locations.
