Political protests occur regularly in central Tirana. Most demonstrations are peaceful, however the situation may deteriorate without warning. Recent demonstrations near government building have involved Molotov cocktails. Avoid large gatherings and protests. Check media for updates and follow the instructions of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).
