Angola

Demonstrations are ongoing in Luanda and other provinces. There’s reports of civil disorder and violence resulting in deaths and injuries. Avoid areas affected by protests, demonstrations or large public gatherings. Review travel routes before departing safe locations. Demonstrations can lead to traffic disruptions and delays. Authorities can restrict movements without notice. Monitor media for updates and follow advice from local authorities (see ‘Safety’).

Angola is experiencing a cholera outbreak, including in Luanda, Bengo, Icolo e Bengo, Cuanza Norte, Malanje and Benguela provinces. Be careful when drinking water or consuming food. You don’t need a visa to visit Angola as a tourist. For all other travel, apply for a visa online (see ‘Travel’).

We advise:

Exercise a high degree of caution in Angola overall due to the risk of civil unrest and the threat of violent crime.

Higher levels apply in some areas.
