Bangladesh

We continue to advise reconsider your need to travel due to ongoing civil unrest, demonstrations and terrorism. The situation remains volatile, with an ongoing risk of protests and demonstrations and a heightened risk of civil unrest and disorder. Bangladesh will hold national elections on 12 February. Large gatherings, including protests and demonstrations may turn violent with little or no warning. Election polling locations and political rallies may be targeted. Avoid these areas. Monitor the media and follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).

We advise:

Reconsider your need to travel to Bangladesh overall due to ongoing civil unrest, demonstrations and terrorism.
