There is increasing conflict and armed groups activity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), near the border with Burundi. Do not travel to areas that border the DRC and monitor local media for updates. Access to the international airport may be affected. All passengers entering or leaving Burundi via Bujumbura Airport must now register online before travelling. There are limited land border options to leave Burundi and fuel shortages are common. The land border with Rwanda is currently closed. We advise do not travel to Kibira National Park and areas of Bujumbura Rural province west of the Rusizi river.
