Central African Republic

We’ve reviewed our travel advice for the Central African Republic (CAR) and continue to advise do not travel due to the dangerous security situation and the threat of terrorism, kidnapping and violent crime. Outbreaks of intercommunal violence and armed conflict can happen without warning throughout the country, including in Bangui. If you’re in CAR despite our advice, leave when it’s safe to do so. Our ability to provide consular services in CAR is extremely limited (see ‘Safety’).

We continue to advise:

Do not travel to the Central African Republic due to the dangerous security situation and the threat of terrorism, kidnapping and violent crime.
