We continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to Ethiopia overall. Other levels apply in some areas. Do not travel to Tigray regional state and the border areas with Eritrea due to the security situation including the risk of terrorist attacks, kidnapping, civil unrest and armed conflict. Parts of the Ethiopia-Eritrea border have a high risk of cross-border conflict. The security situation could deteriorate rapidly with little or no warning. Our ability to provide consular assistance in the ‘do not travel’ areas of Ethiopia is extremely limited (see ‘Safety’).
