We continue to advise exercise normal safety precautions overall. Do not travel to South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Protests are common in Georgia, including Tbilisi. Stay away from public protests and demonstrations. Transport and other services may be disrupted. Monitor the media and follow the instructions of local authorities (see ‘Safety’). Make sure you have valid health and travel insurance for the duration of your stay in Georgia. The insurance policy must be available in Georgian or English.
