We’ve reviewed our advice for Jordan. We haven’t changed the level of our advice. We continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution overall. We also continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to the Syrian and Iraqi border regions due to the unstable security situation. If the Middle East regional security situation deteriorates again, Jordan may experience short-notice airspace closures, flight cancellations, and other travel disruptions.
A passport with a validity of at least 6 months and a visa are required to enter Jordan.
Terrorism is a worldwide threat and could occur anywhere and at any time. Terrorists may target tourist areas or other places frequented by foreigners and where large crowds gather. Take official warnings seriously. If there’s a security incident, follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).
We advise:
Exercise a high degree of caution in Jordan overall due to the threat of terrorism.
Higher levels apply in some areas.
