Jordan

The security situation in the Middle East is unpredictable. Conflicts in the Middle East could lead to an increase in tensions elsewhere in the region and may result in airspace closures, flight cancellations and other travel disruptions. Prioritise your safety, monitor events and follow local advice.

In the event of regional conflict, missiles and drones from outside Jordan may fail in flight over the Kingdom leading to falling debris. Monitor media and follow the advice of local authorities. If there are reports of missile or drone attacks, remain indoors until alerted otherwise and avoid contact with any debris.

Demonstrations and protest activity may also occur, and local security situations could deteriorate with little notice. Avoid all demonstrations and protests (see ‘Safety’).

Exercise a high degree of caution in Jordan. If you’re visiting on a 30-day e-Visa and intend to stay for more than 14 days, you must register with the nearest police station within 14 days of arrival. If you’re visiting for tourism and staying at least 3 nights, you can purchase a Jordan Pass before arrival (see ‘Travel’).

We advise:

Exercise a high degree of caution in Jordan overall due to the threat of terrorism.

Higher levels apply in some areas.
