If you’re in Mali, you should depart immediately using commercial means. If you decide to remain, you’re responsible for your own safety. Australia doesn’t have an embassy in Mali. Our ability to provide consular assistance in Mali is extremely limited (see ‘Safety’). On 25 April 2026, armed groups conducted attacks in multiple locations in Mali, including Bamako. If you are in an affected area, follow the advice of local authorities and be prepared to leave or shelter in place if safe to do so.
