Heavy rainfall in central and southern Mozambique has caused severe flooding resulting in casualties, damage to infrastructure and disruption to essential services including telecommunications, power, water and transport. Monitor local media, follow the instructions from local authorities and check road conditions before travelling.

There’s a kidnapping risk across Mozambique. Kidnappings have occurred in Maputo, Beira, Sofala and in Cabo Delgado province. Protests and strikes can occur at short notice.
