Demonstrations and roadblocks in Machu Picchu town and parts of the Sacred Valley continue. Rail services to Machu Picchu have been suspended and bus services disrupted. Avoid demonstrations and large gatherings. Follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).

Yellow fever is a risk in Peru. Get vaccinated before you travel. You will need a yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter some countries after visiting Peru (see ‘Health’).
