For the 2025 Hajj season, local authorities have introduced additional arrangements and restrictions for foreign travellers. This includes not entering or staying in Makkah between 29 April and 11 June without either a valid work permit in Makkah, a residency ID issued from Makkah or a valid Hajj permit (see ’Travel’).

Demonstrations and protests are illegal in Saudi Arabia, and there may be severe penalties for participation. Avoid all demonstrations and protests should they occur (see ‘Safety’).
