We continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution in Saudi Arabia. Higher levels apply in some areas.

For the 2025 Hajj season, local authorities have introduced additional arrangements and restrictions for foreign travellers. This includes not entering or staying in Makkah between 29 April and 11 June without either a valid work permit in Makkah, a residency ID issued from Makkah or a valid Hajj permit (see ’Travel’).

Missile and drone attacks originating from Yemen and targeting Israel may fail in flight over Saudi Arabia. Attacks targeting sites in Saudi Arabia are possible. Most attacks are intercepted. Follow the advice of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).
