Saudi Arabia

We continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution in Saudi Arabia. Higher levels apply in some areas.

Conflicts in the Middle East could result in an increase in tensions elsewhere in the region and may result in airspace closures, flight cancellations and other travel disruptions. The security situation in the Middle East is unpredictable and could deteriorate further with little warning. There is a risk of reprisal attacks and further escalation across the region, as well as the potential for terrorist attacks. Australians in Saudi Arabia should read our general advice about terrorism risks and protecting your safety during an armed conflict (see ‘Safety’). Ongoing hostilities pose serious security risks across the region. There are reports of military debris falling in various locations. Follow the advice of local authorities.

We advise:

Exercise a high degree of caution in Saudi Arabia overall due to the threat of terrorism and missile and drone attacks.

Higher levels apply in some areas.
