There’s a State of Emergency due to heightened criminal activity. There may be an increased police presence and possible disruptions, such as roadblocks. Curfews may be imposed at short notice. Monitor local media for updates and follow instructions of local authorities (see ‘Safety’).
The visa waiver fee for entry to Trinidad and Tobago has increased. If you are visiting for up to 90 days, you can enter under the visa waiver program (single entry only) and there’s an entry fee. If you’re visiting for more than 90 days or leaving and re-entering you’ll need an e-Visa (see ‘Travel’).
We advise:
Exercise a high degree of caution in Trinidad and Tobago due to the threat of violent crime.
