Large protests have occurred across Türkiye over the past year. Protests are often restricted by local authorities, and bans may be imposed and strictly enforced during sensitive periods. Protests and large public gatherings can turn violent and should be avoided. Monitor local media and follow advice from authorities (see ‘Safety’).
