Vanuatu

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Port Vila on 17 December 2024, causing damage to infrastructure, including roads and buildings. Parts of the CBD remain closed for safety reasons while demolition of damaged buildings continue. Port Vila’s cruise ship terminal remains cut off due to a landslide which is still to be cleared. Follow the advice of local authorities.

Many hotels and tourism operators are open for business, but some have been significantly impacted by the earthquake and are temporarily closed or have relocated.

We advise:

Exercise normal safety precautions in Vanuatu.
